SUMMARY:The AIDS Network Annual Fundraiser: Walk Away from Stigma
DESCRIPTION:The AIDS Network Annual Fundraiser: Walk Away from Stigma \n  \nYou are invited to participate in The AIDS Network’s annual fundraiser and awareness walk! The AIDS Network is proud to present Walk Away from Stigma. \nEvery year our community comes together to show our solidarity with people living with\, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. This event supports vital HIV/AIDS prevention and support services offered to the 1.5 million people living in our communities of Hamilton\, Halton\, Norfolk and Brant. Proceeds will also help other Network services such as harm reduction programs\, Men4Men clinics\, programs for women\, queer and trans youth\, and racialized communities. \n  \nThis year our theme and our new campaign is Walk Away from Stigma. With enormous advancements in science\, medicine and policy\, we have the tools we need to end new HIV infections\, to ensure full\, long and happy lives for people living with HIV\,  to prevent deaths by overdose\, and to safeguard the mental and physical wellbeing of all marginalized people. However\, stigma remains the greatest barrier to our vision of a better future\, fueling the marginalization of people living with\, affected by and vulnerable to HIV. We walk to raise funds for our programs and services\, but also to raise awareness. Join us in our Walk Away from Stigma! \n  \n\n\n\nIt’s easy to participate!  \n\nRegister as an individual or a team \nFundraise through pledges for your walk – minimum participation pledge is $50 (includes registration fee\,  BBQ lunch and Walk tee-shirt and enters you into a draw for some fabulous prizes). There are also incentives for raising more and a prize for the top fundraiser\, stay tuned for details!\nSponsor a walker easily online.\nJoin us on September 23 in beautiful Pier 4 Park\, Hamilton\, to complete the 3.5 km walk  and help us to Walk Away from Stigma!\nCan’t participate but still want to help? Make a general donation here!\n\n\n\n\n\nThis years walk will be taking place at the beautiful Pier 4 Park – 64 Leander Drive\, Hamilton ON. Our route is approximately 3.5 km along the waterfront trail. Registration will begin at 10:30 with the walk scheduled to take place between 12:00pm and 1:00pm\, followed by a community BBQ lunch and the draw for some fabulous prizes.
